FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

When should I order a nanny background check?
Order the nanny background check as part of your pre-employment screening process. Once you have made a job offer that your nanny has accepted, you'll want to order your background check. If you need the nanny to start right away, put it in writing that your offer is dependent upon the results of the background check.

How long will it take?
It normally takes 2 to 8 hours but completion time may vary depending on circumstances.

Does the nanny need to agree to the background check?
In order for a background check to be done, the nanny must give consent. If a nanny refuses to consent to a background check, it could be a red flag. Our nanny background checks are fully FCRA compliant.

What should I look out for when choosing a nanny background check?
Beware of relying entirely on a database background check. These database checks rely on information that may be incomplete and outdated. While they are fine for preliminary screening, they should be used in conjunction with county court checks for background screening purposes.

Bargain priced nanny background checks may not be thorough enough to detect problems. We understand budgets are tight, but screening your nanny isn't the place to cut corners. Make sure you have a thorough and accurate nanny background check.
