Getting an MVR (motor vehicle report) is an essential part of any nanny candidate background check, especially if
they will be driving the children around. State DMV reports show an
individuals’ driving history and can indicate reckless, unsafe or
irresponsible behavior. DMV reports can also be a strong indicator of
substance abuse or alcohol problems. You will receive your candidate's driving record that lists all his or her reportable traffic violations and
the points he or she was charged for each infraction.
Notes: Records typically go back 3 years. Some states provide up to 10 years.
